PROMETRA International participates in WIPO Conference - Marrakech, Morocco

PROMETRA International was invited to participate in the Workshop on Practical Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Traditional Cultural Expressions was organized by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and ABS Initiative (Access and Benefit-Sharing), 05 to 08 September 2016 in Marrakech, Morocco, in collaboration with Deputy Ministry of Environment of Morocco and Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).PROMETRA International, represented by Mamadou Diaw, was invited as a member of Indigenous Communities of Local Group (CAL).   Dr. Erick Gbodossou, PROMETRA President, serves as an expert consultant to WIPO, and has authored  a how to manual on intellectual property rights protection for NGOs, entitled, Practical Guide to Intellectual Property Rights.http://prometra.org/media-centre/publicationsThe workshop participants came from  six countries: Algeria, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Senegal and Morocco. Participants include government officials of Intellectual Property Office, the Ministry of Environment as well as two members of indigenous peoples and local communities from each participating country.French Report compte-rendu-site-web-frEnglish Report compte-rendu-site-web-ang-1prometra-intellectual-property-protection-manual
